Laura J. Leiden




Laura Leiden's paintings have been exhibited regionally and internationally in museums, art centers, galleries and juried exhibitions. 

Her many solo exhibition sites include the Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts in Duluth, Georgia, the Altama Museum of Art and History in Vidalia, Georgia, The American Center in Nashville, Tennessee, the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, the Center Gallery in the Sautee-Nacoochee Community Center in Sautee, Georgia and the Cultural Center for the Arts in Douglasville, Georgia.

Ms. Leiden was invited to exhibit at the Biennale Internazionale Dell'Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy. While exhibiting there, she assisted John T. Spike, world art critic and Renaissance art expert, by organizing the critique sessions for hundreds of artists from around the world. 

Ms. Leiden has also exhibited in Porto Recanati, Italy and at the Museum of Fine Arts in Arad, Romania. She is a juror on the International Artistic Committee of the Arad Biennale and will be a judge at the Arad Biennale in May 2005.

Her work has been featured in juried group exhibitions at the Greenville Museum of Art in Greenville, South Carolina; the Pickens Art Museum in Pickens, South Carolina; the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation in Watkinsville, Georgia, the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, Georgia, and the Sanford Community College in Sanford, Florida. 

Ms. Leiden is the recipient of awards and honors, including the Curator's Choice Award by the Greenville Museum of Art in Greenville, South Carolina and was a Fulbright Art Scholar in Belgium and the Netherlands. 

In addition to being an exhibiting artist, for over twenty years Ms. Leiden has been the founder, designer, and President of Laura Leiden Calligraphy, Inc., a publisher and wholesale distributor of calligraphy prints to gifts shops across the nation and internationally.

Ms Leiden received an M.A.E. from the Rhode Island School of Design and a B.F.A. from the Massachusetts College of Art.
